Delicious banana bread recipe
Try our delicious banana bread recipe. It’s easy to bake and makes a perfect morning snack or school lunch box filler.
Ingredients:
- 100g butter
- 150g raw sugar
- 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
- 1 teaspoon of natural vanilla essence
- 2 large eggs
- 100ml full cream milk
- 1 and ½ cups of wholemeal self raising flour
- ½ teaspoon bi-carbonate soda
Pre-heat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (or 160 degrees if using a fan-forced oven).
In a large mixing bowl, beat together the bananas, sugar, vanilla essence and eggs. Then add the milk and beat mixture again until combined. Fold in the flour and bi-carbonate soda. Do not over-beat the mixture at this stage - it should have a rough consistency (not smooth or runny). Pour into a greased and lined loaf cake tin. Bake for approximately 50 – 60 minutes. The cake is ready when an inserted knife or skewer comes out clean. Turn cake out of loaf tin onto a wire cooling rack.
